I’ve now co-founded three lab startups:

  • Avomeen (Est. 2010) is a full-service chemical testing laboratory. I helped drive the business from formation to profitability, running key marketing, sales, finance, legal, and regulatory projects including launching our website, developing our first sales channels, setting up our accounting and HR systems, and applying for FDA and DEA registration. Avomeen was acquired for $30M+ in 2016.
  • Labdoor (Est. 2012) is a consumer watchdog that independently tests and ranks supplements and other health products. Our grades, rankings, and certifications have reached over 100 million people worldwide. We raised a 2013 Seed led by Mark Cuban, joined Y Combinator in Winter 2015, raised a 2016 Series A led by Floodgate, and are now operating profitably.
  • (Stealth) (Est. 2024) is a startup inventing the future of food safety. $10M+ raised.

I’m also the co-founder of three nonprofit startups:

  • Air to All (Est. 2020) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit medical device startup designing low-cost respirators and ventilators for COVID-19 and beyond. We recruited 700+ volunteers to design open-source nonprofit medical devices, and raised donations from angels and fundraisers.
  • Positive Politics (Est. 2024) is my mission to help ambitious optimists get into politics and do good. It started with my book Positive Politics, published in November 2025. Now I’m launching the first class of the Positive Politics Accelerator, a working retreat in DC for ambitious optimists ready to turn your political ideas into real bills, pilots, and action!
  • Black Bottom Challenge (Est. 2026) is a scholarship program for middle and high school Detroit students to attend pre-college debate, entrepreneurship, and fashion programs and become stars like Black Bottom natives Ralph Bunche, Berry Gordy, and Donyale Luna.
